What does weathering mean? Weathering means wearing away or breaking rocks in a long period of time.
What does mechanical weathering mean? Mechanical weathering means the process of breaking big rocks into little ones or in other words rocks break down in smaller fragments.
What is mechanical weathering caused by? It is caused by rain, wind, ice, heat and plants.
What is another word for mechanical weathering? Physical Weathering.
What does chemical weathering mean? Chemical weathering is the weakening and subsequent disintegration of rock.
What is chemical weathering caused by? Chemical weathering is caused by rain water reacting with the mineral grain in rocks to form new minerals and soluble salts.
What is the difference between mechanical weathering and chemical weathering? 1. Chemical weathering involves a chemical change in at least some of the minerals within a rock. 2.Mechanical weathering involves physically breaking rocks into fragments without changing the chemical make-up of the minerals within it
