How many cells are in the human body? It is estimated that there is 50 trillion cells in the human body.
What are white blood cells and what do they do? White blood cells are an important component of your blood system. They help fight diseases and illnesses, they are also called leukocytes.
What are the brown fat cells in our bodies? Brown fat cells help produce heat throughout our bodies, its primary function is the thermoregulation. In addition to heat produced by shivering muscle.
What is the red blood cells and what do they do? Red blood cells carry oxygen from your lungs and release it to the rest of the body, they also remove carbon dioxide from your body. Red blood cells are made are made inside your bones, in the bone marrow, They live for 120 days then die.
What are axons? The cells carry messages to each other along long distances.
What are the root hairs in plants? The function of root hairs is to collect water and mineral nutrients present in the soil and take this solution up through the roots to the rest of the plant. As root hair cells do not carry out photosynthesis they do not contain chloroplasts.
What are multicellular organisms? Multicellular organisms are each made up of many cells which each have their own job to do.
What are the guard cells in plants? One of the paired cells in the epidermis of a plant that control the opening and closing of a stoma of a leaf.
What is the heart muscle called? It is called the cardiac muscle, it makes up the heart.
What is the white fat in your body purpose? Its purpose is to store energy.
What is the role of the skeletal muscles? skeletal muscles are attached to bones by bundles of collagen fibres known as tendons.
