| What are Security Utilities? | Security utilities are what protect you computer or network. There are many different types of security program, including antivirus software, encryption software, firewall software and spyware removal software. |
| What is a Anti-virus software? | This is a computer program designed to detect computer virus and also get destroy it. Also it is used to prevent your computer from obtaining a virus. |
| What is a Firewall? | A firewall prevents the spread of a virus around your computer network. Also it prevents other users from hacking you computer. |
| What is spyware protection? | Spyware monitors are installed to monitor the computers user, it monitors the users computing. |
| What is a disk defragmenter? | All computer systems have a defragmenter utility pre-installed. When it is run, it will reorganize the hard drive by putting pieces of related data back together so that files are stored next to each other. This may also free up more space on the hard disk making it run faster. |
| What is File transfer? | This allows you to create, move, copy, paste and delete files. |
| What is formatting? | This is where your hard disk prepares for its first use so it can store files and applications. |
| What is System information and diagnostics? | The operating system keeps a record of all the hardware and details of the operating system such as make, clock speed, number of processors and version numbers. It can do this by using a system information system. The system diagnosis checks to see if there is anything wrong with the system. |

| What are automatic updates? | This is a utility that automatically searches the internet for updated versions or patches for critical software such as the operating system or the web browser. If an update is found then it will automatically be installed and you will be urged to restart your computer. |
| What is back-up software? | Software designed to duplicate data when in the event of a hard drive failure, user error, disaster or accident. It creates a back up of your data that can be restored when the problem is fixed. |
| What are compression tools? | Compression is the reduction in size of data in order to save space. An example of a compression tool is java script which can reduce data size for instance download size. |
| What are encryption tools? | They change the data into a different form so that it cannot be accessed elsewhere.. |
