Female Condoms (Femidom) Stops sperm from entering the vagina. 95% successful Advantages: Can be used by people allergic to latex. Available without prescription. Protection from unwanted pregnancy. Disadvantages: Not widely available. Put on and removed carefully.
Diaphragm (cap) Used with spermicide Stops the sperm from reaching the egg. Spermicide kills the sperm. 92-96% successful Advantages: Good protection from unwanted pregnancy. Can be put in hours before sex. Disadvantages: May slip out of place during sex. Must be fitted by a GP Difficult to use correctly.
Combined Pill Prevents ovaries from producing eggs. 100% successful Advantages: Reliable for preventing pregnancy. Reduces periods, pain and blood loss. Disadvantages:
