Bereaved People who have suffered the loss of a loved one
Care Home A home for the elderly who are ill or need specialist medical treatment
Corporate responsibility a community or society that takes responsibility for the people within it.
Day of resurrection The day the dead will return to life
Euthanasia Inducing a painless death by agreement and with compassion
Generation Gap The difference in views between young people and their parents
Hippocratic Oath The oath doctors take before practicing as a doctor
Involuntary euthanasia When someones life is taken without their consent because it is felt that to keep them alive is making them suffer.
ASBO An order issued by a magistrate to stop a person being in a certain place at certain times
Capital punishment The form of punishment where a prisoner is put to death for their crimes. The death penalty
Crime against the person Murder, assault. Crimes directly against the person.
Crime against property Damaging items that belong to others. Vandalism, theft
Crime against the state An offence aimed at damaging government e.g. treason, terrorism.
Ethnic Cleansing Killing a certain group or race from a region or country
Excessive salary A 'fat cat' who earns large amounts of money plus bonus
Exploitation Poor people paid low wages so the employer can make more money
Golden rule 'Love your neighbour as yourself'
Housing Benefits A state benefit which the poor receive to help pay some or all of their rent.
Indolence A deliberate choice to be lazy
Relative morality What is right or wrong depends on particular circumstances
Absolute morality what is right or wrong applies to all situations
Fertility treatment A medical procedure to give an infertile couple the opportunity to have a child.
IVF Test tube contraception to make a woman pregnant
Human genetic engineering Changing the genetics of a person to change their appearance
Designer Babies babies who's gender of characteristics was chosen by parents before birth
Saviour sibling a person who is born to be genetically compatible with their brother or sister to help them with an illness.
Viable when the foetus can survive outside the womb
