Steps for when the number is bigger 1. Place the decimal point at the end. 2. Move it to the left until there is only one digit on the left side of the decimal point. 3. Count how many numbers you move the decimal point. 4. Get rid of the ceros.
Steps for when numbers are smaller 1. Locate the decimal point. 2. Move the decimal point to the right until there is any cero at the right of the decimal point. 3. Count how many numbers you move the decimal point. 4. Get rid of the ceros.
