| Destructive Plate Boundry | When oceanic and continental crusts move together. Friction causes the oceanic plate to melt, triggering an earthquake, eg. Nazca and Soth American plate. |
| Conservative Plate Boundry | Plates slide past each other in opposite directions, or in the same direction at different speeds. Friction is caused eg. San Andreas Fault. |
| Constructive Plate Boundry | When plates move apart, volcanoes are formed to fill the gap and a new crust is formed, eg. Mid Atlantic Ridge. |
