Presidential Election, November 1932 Hoover: 15,760,000 against Roosevelt: 22,830,000. Roosevelt believed in the 'New Deal' - wanted to help Americans and was well educated and passionate.
His First 'Hundred Days' He took office in March 1933 - at then, USA faced a deep economic crisis. Many banks were closed. Industrial production - down 56% from 1929's year. Over 13 million unemployed. In his 'Hundred Days' (9 March to 16 June) he got Congress to pass many new laws.
