| Fusiform Face Area (FFA) | Part of the brain but not of the visual cortex to recognize and identify faces faster than other objects. |
| Autism and face recognition | Autistic persons do not use the FFA to recognize faces; rather they use the normal visual cortex pathways. |
| Looking at where the face looks | Eye tracking shows that we look at where a face looks at. This does not mean though that we pay attention to that area. |
