Tracking Thread Cheap, weak, cotton thread that can be removed without hurting fabric. few colors in gauge of 40 to 50. 50 good for light weight fabric only (weak).
Tracing Wheel and Paper Carbon paper and wheel are used to transfer patterns to fabric. Good only for heavy materials as wheel is spiked. NOT for pale colors, thin cotton or glazed fabric.
Tailors Chalk for temporary marking, white removes more easily than color
Beeswax For waxing thread when sewing buttons
small scissors cutting threads, trimming, snipping fabric
Buttonhole scissors fitted with a screw to regulate the length of a hole slash
Pinking shears zigzag edge for finished seams for heavy non-fraying fabric to prevent bulking
Seam ripper Rip seams and buttonholes, sharp so use with care
Seam Gauge use to mark widths for button and hems etc. make with cardboard
Pin cushion wrist pin cushion is useful for fitting
Hem Marker to mark hems level and parallel to the floor. some make a rim of chalk around the fabric others measure a point to pin
Dress forms adjustable or fixed, plastic covered wire, cardboard or wood. Useful but not essential unless draping
