Acute Angle An angle less than 90 degrees but more than 0 degrees
Add To bring two or more numbers (or things) together to make a new total.
Addition Addition is finding the total, or sum, by combining two or more numbers.
Angle The amount of turn between two straight lines that have a common end point (the vertex).
Arc Part of the circumference (edge) of a circle. Or part of any curve
Area The size of a surface.
Capacity The amount that something can hold. Usually it means volume, such as milliliters (ml) or liters (l) in Metric, or pints or gallons in Imperial.
Centimetre A centimetre is a measure of length. There are 100 centimetres in a meter. 2.54 cm = 1 inch. The abbreviation is cm.
Certain The ability to be firmly secure on an event occurring
Chord A straight line connecting two points on a curve. Example: a straight line connecting two points on a circle's circumference would be a chord. When the chord passes through the centre of a circle it is called the diameter.
Circle A 2-dimensional shape made by drawing a curve that is always the same distance from a centre.
circumference The distance around the edge of a circle (or any curvy shape). It is a kind of perimeter.
Cone A solid (3-dimensional) object that has a circular base and one vertex
Congruent The same shape and size. Two shapes are congruent if you can Turn, Flip and/or Slide one so it fits exactly on the other.
Coordinate Coordinates are a set of values that show an exact position. On maps and graphs it is common to have a pair of numbers to show where a point is: the first number shows the distance along and the second number shows the distance up or down.
Cube A box-shaped solid object that has six identical square faces.
Cuboid A cuboid is a box-shaped solid object. It has six flat sides and all angles are right angles. And all of its faces are rectangles.
Data A collection of facts, such as values or measurements.
Decagon A 10-sided polygon (a flat shape with straight sides). It is a polygon.
Decimal Place A point or dot used to separate the whole number part from the fractional part of a number.
diameter A straight line going through the centre of a circle connecting two points on the circumference.
Divide To divide is to split into equal parts or groups. It is "fair sharing".
division Division is splitting into equal parts or groups. It is the result of "fair sharing".
East The direction towards the point of the horizon where the sun rises at the equinoxes, on the right-hand side of a person facing north.
Edge The line where two surfaces meet
Eight A number equivalent to the product of two and four; one more than seven, or two less than ten; 8.

Eighty A number equivalent to the product of eight and ten; ten less than ninety; 80
Eleven A number equivalent to the sum of six and five; one more than ten; 11
Equation An equation says that two things are the same, using mathematical symbols. An equal sign (=) is used
Equilateral Triangle A triangle with all angles equal (60°). The same as an Equilateral Triangle
Equivalent Having the same value.
Estimate A close guess of the actual value, usually with some thought or calculation involved.
Estimation Finding a value that is close enough to the right answer, usually with some thought or calculation involved.
Even Number Any integer that can be divided exactly by 2. The last digit will be 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8
Face Any of the individual surfaces of a solid object
Factors Factors are numbers you can multiply together to get another number.
