Question Answer
Conventions of Digipak's
Digipak A digipak is a type of packaging for CDs or DVDs. This is typically made from cardboard with an internal plastic holder for one or more discs. Digipaks are normally made to promote an album. Digipaks became increasingly popular at the beginning of 2000’s.
Track List The track list is a playlist of songs that the artist or band have produced. The track list helps let the audience know what songs are included on the CD. Some CD's include various artists. These will include the song titles in bold and the artists name.
Title & Artists Name Title and Artist name is important as it lets the audience know who the artist is and what songs are on the Digipak. The font is set to the theme and will be bright and bold so that it stands out to the viewers. The theme will be interlinked with the genre of music.
Barcode and QR code For a Digipak to function properly it needs a barcode or QR code. A bar code is needed for the customers to purchase the album. A QR code is mainly for audience communication. Smartphones can scan the code which will take them to there website or elsewhere, where they can look for songs from the artist.

Photos A Digipak will need photos to help produce an aesthetically pleasing design. The band/artist will be normally be included on the outside of the cover. Bright colours will stand out and will catch the eye of the audience. Digipaks which include blacks and whites portray a more present and cultured view.
Production and Distribution Companies These companies produce and distribute the song. The companies can be seen in the Digipak. This means that the audience can view music similar to the album they just bought. These companies aim to a particular target audience. This target audience could be a wide or small range of people.
Artist Information The artist is the musician or singer who records and launches music. This can be done professionally through a record label or independently. Artist information is made to appeal to the fans which are into the artist. This supplies the target audience with details about the artist. This sometimes incorporates a short text from the artist him/herself.
Lyrics In Digipaks you can find the lyrics to the songs. This allows the audience to sing along or practise there favourite songs for enjoyment. The fonts tend to be small as it requires a lot of space to fit the lyrics. This usually fits two songs per page. Lyrics are only viewed in albums that are able to be sung to.
