| Newton | an English physicist and mathematician who is known for inventing the 3 laws of motion |
| Friction | the force that slows down an object when rubbing on each other |
| Gravity | the force that pulls you down to earth; for example, gravity is the reason why apples fall off trees |
| Acceleration | the measurement of the change in velocity |
| Velocity | speed and direction |
| Inertia | the way an object resists a change in motion or rest |
| Speed | the rate at how quick an object can move |
| Balanced Force | two forces in opposite directions on an object and match in size; when there is a balanced force on an object, it either stays still or keeps moving without any change in velocity(speed and velocity). For example, a stick is able to float in the ocean because the stick has the equal force as the force of the upthrust of the water. |
| Unbalanced Force | the opposite of balanced force; when two forces don't have the equal amount of force which causes still objects to move, change a moving object's velocity or make it stop. |
| Net Force | the measurement of the amount of force an object gets |

| Tension Force | the force that is given to a tight object when it is pulled tight by forces |
| Spring Force | an object that compresses or stretches a spring and is always restored back to it's normal position |
