| Talk about the Temple of Jupiter | The most important temple in the city, which was also dedicated to Juno and Minerva. It was the most prominent building in the forum and symbolised the power of Roman state religion. |
| Tell me about the Temple of Apollo | The worship of Apollo perhaps suggests early Greek influence on Pompeii. Inside the sanctuary, two bronze statues were found – one of Apollo with his bow and the other of his sister, Diana. |
| Tell me about the Temple of the Emperor | It was where Pompeiians worshipped the Roman Emperor (who was this Vespasian in 79AD), since emperors were worshipped as gods. |

| What was the Macellum? | This was a covered market selling meat and fish. In the centre was an open area with a circular building holding a pool of water with fish for sale. Around the edge, both inside and outside, were shops; some of the wall paintings which still survive indicate what goods sold there – they include fish, bread, poultry and wine. |

| What was the weights and measures table? | It was used to check the accuracy of the measures of the forum traders. The table has nine holes, each one equal to a specific measure and with a mini trapdoor at the base. When the hole was filled to the brim, the trapdoor was released and the exact amount contained fell into a pot below. |
| What was the granary? | The granary was used to store grain and cereal to be sold in the forum. |

| What were the five political buildings in Pompeii? | Three were municipal offices for town councillors, the Basilica and the Comitium. |
| What was the Basilica? | The basilica it was one of the most important public buildings in Pompeii, serving as a law court and the centre for business and financial transactions. At the far end of the building there was a raised platform, which was probably used for judges and trials for auctioneers at auctions. |
