Question Answer
Catholics celebrate the Sacraments in this specific way: In a Solemn manner
The purpose of a Catholic "celebration" is to: Gather in order to honor something
In order for a Sacrament to be carried out in a valid way, a rite must be comprised of 3 things: 1) Matter 2) Form 3) Minister
This is the necessary element in a Sacrament to make it a VISIBLE sign of God's grace: Matter
This servant ensures that a Sacrament is administered by the proper person: The Minister
These are the particular words that are said or prayed OR the specific actions in a Sacrament: The Form
This is the term meant to indicate the graces that a particular Sacrament, by God's design, confer upon the faithful: Proper Graces
All Sacraments impart sanctifying grace and this kind: Sacramental Grace
Another way to speak of the purpose of graces is to say that they provide: "special help" to attain the end proper to each Sacrament
This is what is meant by "disposition": to have a good, open, and sincere attitude of spirit when approaching a Sacrament
For someone to receive the fullness of graces during a Sacrament these 2 conditions must be met: 1) Have the INTENTION to receive graces 2) Be in the proper spiritual CONDITION
If someone receives communion with mortal sin in their hearts, they commit: Sacrilege
This is the key to participating in the Sacraments with proper disposition: Preparation
Other than the 7 Sacraments these two things can also be seen as Sacraments: 1) Jesus Christ 2) His Church
This is how Jesus is like a Sacrament: Through the matter of his visible human nature, the form of his words, and his actions, he brought grace into the world
This is how The Church is like a Sacrament: because she is "the sign and the instrument of the communion of God and men" (CCC 780)
