| What are apps? | Apps are software applications written specifically to make use of the limited memory resources, touchscreen and connectivity found in most devices. |
| What type of apps are there? | -Navigation. -Accessing e-mails. -Updating social networking pages. |
| What are the features of a smartphone? | -Telephone used for voice conversations. -A PDA (diary, calendar). -Web browsing. -Media playing. -Connections to the mobile phone network. - |
| Advantages of smartphones? | -They are usually small and light, so they are easy to move around, and also PORTABLE. -Good for communicating within work, e.g you can call, text or e-mail collegues to gather the information that you need. -Used for your own entertainment purposes, e.g for watching videos, streaming the web, updating social networking sites and listening to music. |
| Disadvantages of smartphones? | -They are not suitable for many office based tasts, e.g work processing. -It is a very small device, so it can be hard to quickly type information if it needs to be sent in a short amount of time. -Can be easily lost or stolen, as it is usually kept in a front or back pocket, or in sight for others. -More care needs to be taken to keep data secure and safe (the data protection act) to keep confidential information, confidential. |

| What is a bandwidth? | A bandwidth is a determination of how fast something you're downloading, is downloaded. For example, if you have a small bandwidth, it will take longer for you to download a video or file. |
| Why do you need to backup your device? | You will need to backup your data incase your device is wiped. If you do not back it all up, all the data you first had, will be lost and you will not be able to regain it. |
| What are data capture forms? | Data Capture Forms are online forms with spaces for answers. This is an easier way of capturing a lot of data, and the answers can easily be submitted. |
| What are automated data capture systems? | Automated Data Capture Systems are used to collect data about physical things. e.g (controlling air-conditioning, or heating) |
