Question Answer
Examples of transverse waves - Electromagnetic waves - Water - S-type seismic waves
Examples of longitudinal waves - Sound - Slinky (spring) - P-type seismic waves
Refraction when waves change direction due to a change in medium
Reflection when waves are bounced off a surface
Diffraction When waves spread out when they hit an object or pass through a gap
If light goes from a less dense to more dense material, it will... slow down and bend towards the normal
If light goes from more dense to a less dense material, it will... speed up and bend away from the normal
Diffraction in relation to gap and wavelength The smaller it is in comparison to the wavelength, the more diffraction there will be.
