1. *indicate the amount of a name *they are located in front of the name.

   • Quantifier nouns
     • a /an
       • *we use a/an with singular nouns.
       • we use a before a consonant sound
         • example: a grapes, a bear
       • We use an before a vowel sound (a, e, i, o, u).
         • example: an orange, an apple
     • some/ any
       • We use some/any with plural and uncountable nouns.
         • We use some/any when we don't need to say the exact amount.
       • We use some in positive sentences:
         • Example: I´d like some grapes.
       • We use any in negative sentences and questions.
         • Example: We haven't any grapes.
           • Have you got any grapes?

     • How many
       • We use how many with countable nouns
         • Example: How many apples have we got?
     • How much
       • We use how much with uncountable nouns
         • Example: How much water have we got?
     • A lot of
       • We use a lot of in positive sentences
         • Example: I need a lot of grapes.
     • We use often use much/many in negative sentences and questions
       • We haven't got many pears.
         • I don't eat much candy.
           • Do you eat much candy?
         • Have you got many pears?
