      3. 1) Something that is happening now or close to the time of speaking 2) A temporary situation. We often use the present continuous (and not simple present) when action continues over a period of time.
        1. Examples: Where’s Tom? He’s playing soccer.Martha and her husband are traveling around Europe for two weeks.
          1. TOM IS PLAYING SOCCER
        2. Simple Present (Negative) For all verbs (EXCEPT be), use: doesn't don't + form simple verb examples:Sara doesn’t work on Sunday. I don’t have a lot of free time.
          1. VERB BE: For this verb ONLY, never use doesn’t or don’t. Simple ADD the word NOT after the verb. Example: I am tired. I am NOT tired.
            1. HE IS RICH, HE IS NOT RICH
            2. Present Continuous: I am, You-We-They are, He-She-It is + Verb-ING Example: I am cleaning my house this week.
              1. Present Continuous (Negative) For this tense, simply ADD the word NOT after the verb BE.
