FIRST
1. If+Sj+verb present simple,+sj+will+verb in infinitive
2. Talk about possibilities in the present or in the future. High possibility
  1. Possible or likely things in the future
3. EXAMPLES
  1. if I study I will pass the exam
  2. You will be allowed to go out If you tidy up your bedroom
4. We can substitute IF for:
  1. Provided
  2. Provided that
  3. Providing
  4. Providing that
  5. On condition that
  6. As long as
  7. Only if
  8. IN CASE (followed by a clause)
    1. I’ll call you later in case that you need a lift
  9. IN CASE OF (followed by a noun phrase)
    1. In case of emergency dial 112
  10. UNLESS means IF NOT (a no ser que in Spanish)
    1. we must chand the verb tense (asffirmative-negative or vicversa) when using unless
      1. You will go out as long as you tidy up your bedroom
      2. You will not go out unless you tidy p your bedroom
SECOND
1. IF + SJ + VERB IN PAST SIMPLE, SJ + WOULD + INFINITIVE
2. To talk about unreal situations in the present or in the future. Low probability. To give advice
  1. Imposible things in the present or inlikely things in the future
3. EXAMPLES
  1. If I won the lottery, I would sail round the world.
  2. If you had a million euros, you would be abl to travel around the world and not work
4. We can substitute IF for
  1. Imagine
  2. suppose
  3. supposing
THIRD
1. IF + SJ + PAST PERFECT, SJ + WOULD + PRESENT PERFECT
2. Talk about unreal events in the past. Often used to express criticism or regret. Impossible situation.
  1. Things that didn't happen in the past and their imaginary results.
3. EXAMPLES
  1. I wouldn't have left my job if I had known how difficult it is to find another one.
  2. She would have gone to your birthday party if she hadn't been sick.
ZERO
1. It is used for scientific fact or statements that are always true
  1. General truths or general habits
2. If+ Present simple
3. EXAMPLES
  1. If you add 2 and 2, you get 4.
  2. If you heat ice, it melts.
  3. The grass gets wet if it rains.
MIXED CONDITIONALS

    1. Present condition ( Spanish subjunctive) still happening
