    1. Uses:
      1. Action that occurred in the past before another. Actions that began in the past and continued until a specific time in the past. Actions at a specific time in the past.
        1. Sometimes, it can be used in conditional sentences.
          1. It is useful for indirect report in order to reuse what a person said.
          2. Structure.
            1. ? = Auxiliary had + subject + verb participle + complement ?
              1. - = Subject + auxiliary had + not + verb participle + complement.
                1. + = Subject + auxiliary had + verb participle + complement.
                  1. R = Yes, + subject + had + verb participle + complement. No, + subject + had + not + verb participle + complement.
                  2. Examples:
                    1. + = I had watched movie in the park yesterday.
                      1. - = Sara hadn't cooked at her brother's house.
                        1. ? = Had he liked to listen to rock?

                            1. Giving information about events or situations at a specific time.
                              1. Mention two or more past actions that happened at the same time.
                                1. Express actions or states that were taking place in the past when another action or state interrupts or reinforces it.

                                  1. + = Subject + auxiliary verb (to be was / were) + verb (ing) + complement.
                                    1. - = Subject + auxiliary verb (to be was / were) + not + verb (ing) + complement.
