  1. Underpopulation restricts economic growth.
    1. Not enough workers to take full advantage of the natural resources available
    2. less people to care for and educate
      1. better health care as less to go round
      2. Australia is a country with a lack of water, having underpopulation slows and allows more time for finding solution to this problem
        1. If a country has a declining population, it could end up with too many people needing pensions and too few workers to pay taxes. It is not sustainable.
          1. Relies on foreign immigration and investors e.g. foreign mining companies
            1. Investors will not want to invest during an economic crisis like that of 2008 and the 1970's
              1. This will lower the countries economy as less money is going through
