Why the US were Losing
Did not know how to combat a People's war
Relied instead on conventional methods which had limited value in Vietnam
NVA and VC had greater support in South Vietnam
Failed to win the heart and minds- search & destroy alienated the population
Soldiers had lower morale and much less motivated
Especially after Tet when the home front was not really behind them
NVA and VC willing to fight a war of attrition and the US were not
Armed forces not suited to it and the public would not tolerate it.
