        2. Early 1930's
          1. When Nazi's came to power they introduced Boycott of Jewish shops/businesses and banned Jew's from the army and inheriting land.
            1. Jews began to slide into poverty as a result of less oppurtunities.
          2. 1935
            1. Jews banned from army&resturants/ Nuremburg laws passed; forbid German citizenship&passport, couldn't vote or marry German citizens.
              1. Made their lives very difficult for them.
            2. 1938
              1. Jewish doctors, dentists&lawyers forbidden to work with white Aryans, Jewish identity cards (large J), Jews had to register all possesions making it easier for the government to take them.
                1. Growing violence towards Jews, 1st government pogrom (organised violence) and this was a signal to jews of what's to come.
                2. Kristallnacht - a storm of attacks on Jews. SA burnt, destroyed and vandalised synagogues, jewish homes&businesses. Estimated 100 Jews died.
                  1. 20,000 jews had been sent to concentration camps
                  2. 1939
                    1. Jews blamed for Kristillnacht, fined 1 billion marks for damage, banned from running businesses and from German schools/unis, forced immigration and ghettos established.
