Resource summary
direct and inverse proportion
if 2 things are directly proportionate, increasing one will increase the other proportionately
if 2 things are inversely proportionate, increasing one quantity cause the other to decrease proportionately eg if c is doubled, then d is halved
this is how you can show proportionality
these are some other proportion expressions
proportion equations can be easily graphed
to do algebraic proportion
write the proportion as an equation
find a pair of values and substitute them to find k
put the value of k into the equation so it is ready to use
they will ask you to fin y if you have been given you a value of x or vice versa
