  3. this theory was proven by Galalio
what visible light can tell us about the universe
1. we can see things that are very far away because they five off light
  1. like stars
  2. we can see other planets in the universe because they reflect sunlight
2. most early discoverys were made by the naked eye
  1. the discoverys more reresently were made by telescope
3. telescopes
  1. they magnify images
  2. make is so things can be seen in more ditail
  3. they are telescopes on Earth but they are also in space but to put them there it is very expencive
  4. using telescopes photos of the the universe can be taken
waves
1. All waves have wavelength, Frequency, ampiltude and speed,
  1. WAVELENGTH=the distance from one peak to the next
  2. FREQUENCY= how meany complete waves there are per-seconds, this is measured in Hz
  3. AMPLITUDE= just the hight of the waves (from the mid-line to the peak)
  4. The SPEED is how fast it goes
  5. one important thing to remember is that waves transfer energy and information- without transferring matter.
2. There are two formulas for wave speed that you need to know
  1. the first formula links speed, frequency and wavelength:
    1. Speed (V id for velocity)
    2. Speed= Frequency * wavelength
      1. V= F * λ
3. Waves can be transveres or longitudinal
