  1. what is an open plan; open plan are often large rooms with many people working in them. They all (workers)have their own desk and their own equipment but they share resources such as printers and filling cabinets
    1. Advantages
      1. teamwork; important in the organisation, open plan will encourage this by making it easy for people o work together in their team
        1. screens between desks; allowing a degree of privacy. they are usually movable to allow maximum flexibility.
        2. Disadvantages
          1. one disadvantage is office telephone calls and conversations can be overheard easily.
            1. Concentration can be affected. not all people find it easy to work they can hear other peoples conversation. its also easy to get chatting to someone nearby
              1. sharing printers and other hardware can be more cost effective. it can also result in time wasting.
            2. What is a cellular office; traditional workplace organisation. each worker having their own office. offices have to be individually built and furnished, each office worker has their own equipment
              1. Advantages
                1. concentration on the task should be improved
                  1. they have their own office so there would be no distraction or any noise
                  2. disadvantages
                    1. disadvantage harder to monitor individual workers
                      1. this is the expensive option
                        1. Teamwork is harder as people work behind closed doors
                    2. what is Flexitime; an employee who works flexitime is allowed to vary their working schedule to fit in with their social or family requirements. Employee is allowed to choose their own hours each day, provided that they complete the required total hours demanded by their employer for the week or month
                      1. advantages
                        1. employee; commuting need not to be done at the busiest and most expansive time
                          1. possible for a parent to take their child to or collect them from school
                            1. motivated staff who take less time off work, which beneficial to workers
                            2. disadvantages
                              1. flexitime can be difficult to implement because, for example, customers expect to be able to contact employees during the normal working day
                            3. what is teleconferencing; an audio conference where one or both parties use a speaker phone so that more than one person can be involved at each end of the conversation
                              1. advantages
                                1. meetings can take place around the world with very little advance planning; people do not have to travel. saves money and a lot of time.
                                  1. reduce the need for travel
                                    1. sound and pictures from one location to another so that a live meeting can take place.
                                    2. disadvantage
                                      1. call could break down
                                        1. the cost of the devices are really expensive
