1 Community composition changes over time. The study of
succession adresses this change, which can be influenced by
the enviroment, biotic interactions.
2 TYPES
2.1 Primary Succession: the series of changes
that occurs in an areawhere no soilor
organism exists. Example: soil creation,
pioneer species, vlcanic eruption, fertile soil
and maturing plants.
2.2 Secondary Succession: the series of
changes that occurs in an área where the
ecosystem has been disturbed, but soil
and organisms exists. Example:
hurricanes, fires, tornados, human
activities, such as farming.
