they faced storms, seasickness, stale water/food, wagons
could overturn, cholera, and other disease outbreaks
the conditions they faced once they arrived were being introduced to
hard work for very little pay!

Also in Californian mining towns ,big businesses moved it,
miners brought their families out and permanent towns began
to develop!

as permanent towns began to develop the land the Sioux lived on
was being restricted, white people would also kill the buffalo (indians
source of food)
miners began digging the mines in the Black Hills - they were
violating the Sioux's most sacred place!
5. How was law and order dealt with in mining towns?
due to no US government law officers to protect them people had to make their own
arrangements. They held a mass meeting where a chairman and officers were chosen.
