It shows how although she is a Wolf and therefore naturally takes a disliking towards humans, the idea she actually wants to play with one (herself) emphasises how lonely she is. In addition, it shows that the only thing that distinguishes Wolf and Human is a reflection.
        2. Bury her excrement and cleanse herself of her natural juices
          1. She "buries" the blood as if it is a mistake and shouldn't happen. Ironic because as a Wolf, they are unconscious about being dirty and therefore shows both her sides.

            1. It is ultimately her wolf instincts that allowed her to save the Duke

              1. This shows how Wolf-Alice has been taught all she knows about the forests from the Werewolf

                  1. Carter emphasises the sharp features of Wolf Alice in order to highlight how inhuman she really is

                    1. Creates a us vs them connection within the reader. Shows how although Wolf Alice is a human, she is very much inhuman.
                    2. She never walks, she trots or gallops
                    3. Time
                      1. The flow continued for a few days, which seemed to her an endless duration of time.
                        1. Wolf Alice never seems to show a consideration to time. However, now she shows that she is aware of her surroundings and is slightly considering time
                          1. She had, as yet, no direct notion of past or of future or of duration, only of a dimensionless immediate moment.
                            1. Before this very human experience, Wolf Alice had not needed to be aware of time. She lived impulsively.
                          2. She learned to expect these bleedings, to prepare her rags against them
