1. Old piece of wood with a knot in it

3. If a piece has not been season properly (left to dry) it will bow,spring,cup or twist

QUALITY CONTROL
1. A quality control check is a check you make on your work to make shore it is the best it an be
2. IN MY WOODWORK PROJECT EXAMPLES OF QUALITY CONTROL CHECK ARE ...
  1. Use a try square to make shore that the corners are 90 degrees
  2. Measure twice cut once
  3. Make shore machines are set up properly
Types of joints
1. Miter joint-This uses a 45 degrees angle to make a joint.It is most comanly used in picture farms
2. Bridle joint- Split the piece of wood into three. This joint is very strong and sometimes holds together without glue
TIMBER
1. Timber can be cut in many ways to create unstable boards. How it is cut can affect the properties
LAMINATING
1. Laminating wood is all about layers!!!!!!!!!
2. Laminating is when lots of small thin peices of wood are glued together in a mold with a peice of plastic so it does not stick to the mold and leave it for 24 hours in a light vice
G.R.P.
1. GRP stands for glass renforsed plastic
2. Another name for GRP is fiber glass
3. GRP is made by mixing resin and the harderner together. You do this on a smooth mold. This is called a catalytic reaction
