Jekyll and Hyde character notes

john utterson is the main character in a strange case of dr.jekyll and mr.hyde.
1. he is a lawyer and a friend of dr. henry Jekyll.
2. he suspects something weird is happening between dr.jekyll and mr.hyde, but he just thinks mr.hyde is black mailing dr.jekyll.
3. eventually he learns that dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde are the same person.
Dr. Jekyll is a scientist who, while searching for a way to separate his good self from his bad impulses, creates a potion what turns himself into a man without conscience.
1. eventually, the transformations get out of control, and he soon needs potions to retain his humanity.
2. when he runs out of ingredients for his potions he soon realizes that he will turn into mr.hyde forever.
mr. hyde is dr. jekylls alter ego

Richard Enfield is a relative of johns, who witnesses mr. hyde violently attacking the young girl.
Dr. Lanyon discovers the connection between dr. Jekyll and mr. hyde; he grows ill and dies.
1. before he dies, he leaves john utterson a letter detailing the connection between dr. Jekyll and mr. hyde
mr. pool is dr. jekylls butler.
1. he helps john utterson at the end of the novel when it is clear the dr. Jekyll has gone insane.
inspector newcomen contacts john utterson to help him with the case, after sir danvers carew a client of john uttersons, is murdered by mr. hyde
