  1. The Communicative Approach is the ability to use the language effectively for communication and develop communicative competence. it includes a wear communicative approach and a strong communictive approach.
    1. This communicative approach is based on the idea that learning language successfully comes through having to communicate real meaning.
      1. In this case learners are involved in real communication.
        1. Their natural strategies for language acquisition will be used, and this will allow them to learn to use the language.
      2. Classroom activities guided by the communicative approach are characterised by trying to produce meaningful and real communication, at all levels.
        1. Lessons are more learner-centred, and there may be use of authentic materials.
        2. The origins of the Communicative Approach have arisen both in linguistics and in language teaching as a “ reaction against the view of language as a set of structures”
          1. The Communicative Approach places emphasis on developing the communicative competence ,
            1. For example:the overall underlying knowledge and ability for language use which the speaker - listener possesse
        3. The traditional method is concerned with the teacher being the controller of the learning environment. Power and responsibility are held by the teacher and they play the role of instructor (in the form of lectures) and decision maker (in regards to cirriculum content and specific outcomes). (Novak, 1998)
          1. Learning is cheifly associated within the classroom and is often competitive.
            1. The most common seating arrangement used by the traditionalists is rows.
              1. Learning may be independant, collaborative, cooperative and competitive. The utilisation and processing of information is more important than the basic content.
                1. There are some hints that we have gathered about the learning environment and how it effects student's learning outcomes.
                  1. 1. Keep your classroom design cluster free. Only have the resources you are using ready to access.
                    1. 2. Maximise classroom space and this helps with cleanliness.
                      1. 3. Create a strong child-centred environment with little stress that enables productive learners to work to the brains natural learning ability.
