Headlands and Bays
1. impacted by geology
  1. Areas of alternating resistant and less resistant rock
  2. less resistant rock experiences more erosion and develops into bays
    1. More resistant rock become headlands
      1. high energy waves due to refraction
    2. experience low energy waves = creates beaches
Cliffs and wave-cut platforms
1. due to high and steep waves breaking and concentrating power on certain area of the cliff face
2. cliff is eventually undercut = wave cut notch
  1. eventually cliff collapses
    1. Cliff retreats and leaves a 5 degree wave cut platform
Geos
1. Constant pressure causes a joint to cut inland
  1. crack widens to form a narrow, steep-sided inlet
Caves
1. When a cliff is undercut
Blowhole
1. When erosion continues upwards from a cave
Arch
1. When caves extend backwards to meet another
  1. Creates a hole through the headland
Stack
1. When the cliff recedes and WC platform develops. the Arch will collapse
Stump
1. Wave cut platform left in the former position of a stack
