Macbeth - Act 1 - Scene 7

This is the scene where Lady Macbeth persuades Macbeth to kill king Duncan. This is a key scene.

      1. Sickly, calling him a coward
  2. Challenging his manliness
    1. 'When you durst do it, then you were a man.'
3. Threatening, and asking him questions
  1. 'Wherein you dressed yourself? Hath it slept since?
4. When arguing, Lady Macbeth keeps cutting Macbeth off
5. She had no attactments
  1. 'Have plucked my nipple from his boneless gums and dashed the brains out, had I so sworn as you have done to this.'
    1. She would do anything if she promised

    1. 'So clear in his great office, that his virtues will plead like angels'
  2. King Duncan made Macbeth Thane
    1. 'He's here in double trust: First I am his kinsman and his subject.'
  3. Macbeth is only killing the king for power
    1. 'I have no spur to prick the sides of my intent but only vaulting ambition'
2. When arguing, Macbeth keeps cutting Lady Macbeth off.
3. Going back on his word because he does not want guilt.
4. At the end, he is ready and he wants to kill the king.
  1. This is because he wants power
  2. 'I am settled and bend up.'
5. 'False face must hide what the false heart doth know.'
  1. He has to show sadness and shock and love when he kills King Duncan
