Resource summary

AQA GCSE Physics Unit 2
  1. Energy and Electricity
    1. The Atom
      1. Motion
        1. Velocity
          1. Speed and velocity are both how fast you are going and are both measured in m/s
            1. Speed is just how fast you are going. Velocity, however must also have the direction specified.
          2. Distance-Time graphs are a way of describing something moving through time and space.
            1. The gradient of the graph tells you how fast the object is travelling because the gradient is the change in the distance/ by the change in time
              1. Gradient = Speed
                1. Flat sections are when the object is stationary
                  1. Straight uphill or downhill sections means it is travelling at a steady speed
                    1. The steeper the graph the faster the object is going
                      1. Downhill sections means it's going towards its starting point
                        1. Curves represent acceleration or deceleration
                          1. A steepening curve means its speeding up. A levelling off curve means it's slowing down
                            1. Calculating speed from a Distance-Time Graph
                              1. Speed = Gradient = Vertical/ Horizontal
                            2. DISTANCE = SPEED * TIME
                              1. Acceleration
                                1. Change in velcoty = Acceleration * Time Taken
                                  1. Acelleration is how quickly the velocity is changing the change in veloctiy can be a change in speed or change in direction or both
