Prime Factors

1. Prime Factors are factors that are prime numbers.

2. Numbers can be written as the product of their prime factors.

   • (A product is found by multiplying two or more numbers together).

3. You can use a factor tree to put all the factors in a wider perspective.

   • e.g the diagram shows prime factors of 30:
     • 30
       • 2
         • THIS IS A PRIME NUMBER.
       • 15
         • 3
           • THIS IS A PRIME NUMBER.
         • 5
           • THIS IS A PRIME NUMBER.
