  1. Engage - How will we build students' motivation and interest in all sessions creating autonomous and work ready students?
    1. Progress - How will our students' progress be assessed in lessons, how will we let them know how well they are doing?
      1. Instil Independence - How will we foster students' initiative and resilience?
        1. Challenge - How will we ensure that all students are consistently challenged and working at their full potential
          1. In order for all lessons to be 'EPIC' they must include the following:
            1. 1. Meaningful and clear learning outcomes (what will the students be learning?)
              1. 3. A range of tasks to keep students engaged which are clearly linked to the learning outcomes
                1. 4. Checks on learning throughout the session and at important points within the class that challenge individual students
                  1. 5. Encourage independent learning - Let students find their own meaning - ask, don't tell
                    1. 6. Recap on learning at the end of each session for retention of learning
                2. 2. Ensure student readiness i.e. routines to ensure good punctuality, seating plan, coats off, ID, no drinks or food etc.
