Act 1
1. Twins are born and one is given away

    1. 1. Narrator starts with a prologue saying the twins were separated and then died when they found out
    2. 2. Mrs Johnstone sings that she is 25 (but looks like 42) and a single mother of 7. She is working class and cannot support her children
    3. 3. Mrs Johnstone starts working for Mrs Lyons, who is middle class, she and Mr Lyons can't have children but want to
    4. 4. Mrs Johnstone finds out that she's having twins, Mrs Lyons persuades Mrs Johnstone to give one of the twins to her as a child will be better off with her, they swear on the bible
    5. 5. The babies are born, Mrs Lyons takes one
    6. 6. Mrs Lyons doesn't like Mrs Johnstone being around her child so she fires her, Mrs Johnstone wants her child back so Mrs Lyons then threatens that if the children find out that they are twins both babies will die

2. Twins are 7 and become blood brothers

  3. Key Events
    1. 2. Mickey and Edward meet, they bond straight away and become blood brothers
    2. 1. Mickey is told off for playing by the big houses and says the 'Our Sammy' monologue
    3. 3. Mrs Johnstone finds out that Mickey and Edward are friends and tells Edward to never go around there again
    4. 4. Mickey goes to Edward's house and is sent away by Mrs Lyons, Edward gets angry and swears at Mrs Lyons who then hits him
    5. 5. Mickey plays with Linda, Sammy and some other kids, they have an argument. Mickey and Linda go to find Edward, he sneaks out to play with them
    6. 6. Mrs Lyons wants to move house but Mr Lyons is hesitant. Mickey, Edward and Linda are caught behaving badly, which pushes Mr Lyons to agree to moveing
    7. 7. Edward goes to say goodbye to Mickey Mrs Johntone gives him a locket with her and Mickey in it.
    8. 8. The Johnstone's find out that they are being rehoused to the countryside
Act 2
1. Twins are teenagers
  1. Key Events
    1. 1. Mrs Johnstone sings about being happier in the countryside. Mickey and Linda are suspended from their school, while Edward is suspended from his private school. Mrs Lyons finds out about the locket
    2. 2. Mickey and Edward meet and become friends again. Mickey and Linda like each other
    3. 3. Mrs Lyons finds out that Mrs Johnstone lives nearby and tries to bribe her to move away, but ends up attacking her with a knife
    4. 4. Mickey, Edward and Linda meet up and, told by the narrator, age from 14 to 18, Mickey gets a job
    5. 5. Edward tells Linda that he loves her but gets Mickey to ask her out, he then goes to university

2. Twins are adults
  1. Key Events
    1. 1. Mickey gets Linda pregnant so they get married, Mickey loses his job and falls out with Edward at Christmas
    2. 2. Edward and Linda confess their love for each other, Sammy tries to persuade Mickey to help with a robbery
    3. 3. During the robbery, Sammy shoots someone and he and Mickey get arrested, Mickey is sentenced to 7 years. He becomes depressed and addicted to anti-depressants
    4. 4. Mickey is released early, depressed and still taking pills. Edward is now the local councillor and helps Linda get Mickey a job and house
    5. 5. Mickey stops taking the pills, Edward and Linda kiss and Mrs Lyons tells Mickey about the two
    6. 6. Mickey turns mad, takes Sammy's gun and goes to Edward, followed by Mrs Johnstone and Linda
    7. 7. Mickey shouts at Edward, Mrs Johnstone tells him not to shoot because they are twins. Angry, Mickey accidentally shoots Edward and he is then shot by the police
