Podcast Assignment: Please read Captain John
Smith's account of the first colonists in Virginia
entitled "The English Establish a Foothold at
Jamestown." This account can be found in Captain
Smith's diary, which is available via the Library of
Congress at www.loc.gov/teachers. Pay particular
attention to the colonists' relationship with Powhatan
and his people. You will then record a summary of
this account via podcast on SoundCloud and post the
link on the classroom website. Please be sure to
include music and a sound effect. You will need to
write a script and submit it in to me. A sample podcast

entire premise of the book. You will need to include text, video, images and music.

Georgia Historical Markers Adventure! Download the “Marker App” from the Georgia Historical Society. If you do not have a smart phone, you can go online to the
Georgia Historical Society’s website to find and map markers that you would like to find. Your goal is to find at least 8 historical markers (and no more than 10). 1. You
or someone else will need to take a picture of you with the historical marker. You will then create a slideshow video of the markers. 2. Include a map showing all of
your stops-this is available through the GHS app or site). 3. Create the slideshow video on WeVideo and include audio. Your audio will be a 5-10 second blurb about
each marker. The video should be at least one minute but less than three minutes. 4. Include a storyboard or brainstorm image (use linoit.com). Post this as your first
