Eukaryotic Cell. Eukaryotic Cells differ from prokaryotic cells than they contain a nucleus and other membran-bound structures called organelles. Eukaryotic cells can be plant, animal or fungi. Many single-cells can be, like Protozoa, and multi-cellular organisms are Eukaryotes. Endoplastic Reticulum. The endoplasmic Reticulum isa a contiguous, complex network of interconnected tubes and membrane sacs that extend thtoughout the cell's cytoplasm. This complex makes up roughly one half of the membranous tossue of the cell. There are two tipe of endoplasmic reticulum: the rough and the smooth:

Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum(RER or Rough Er). The rough Endoplasmic Reticulum get its name from the fact that its surfaces are studded with ribosomes. The membrane of the rough ER is contiguous with the nuclear membrane as well as that of the smooth ER. The RER's primary functions are to manufacture ans then fold proteins into their final useful configurations. the proteins it produces are then either secreted from the cell, transported to locations within the cell ehere they are needed, or sent on the Golgi Apparatus for futher processing.
