1.the particle model is an approximation of reality2.In a solid - particles barely move and stay in the same position 3. In a liquid- Particles move a bit and rol over eachother if unsettled4.In a gas- particles move alot and spread throughout the space5.All matter is composed of tiny partices6.These particle are in constant movement7. This movement is proportional to the temperature 8.The faster something moves, the hotter it is and vice versa 9.the particles are attracted to eachother when they are close together10.High attraction-solid, med. attraction - liquid, low attraction -gas11.the less attracted to eachother a cohort of particles are, the more they can spread out, this accounts for their properties

1.As a solid or liquid is heated, the particles start to vibrate more and more rapidly which slightly increases the distance between them. As  result, the substance expands2. As a solid or liquid cools, the particles start to vibrate less and less rapidly and which decreases the overall  distance between them. As a result, the substance shrinks.3.When a gas is heated, the particles are already pretty far apart and so they just get further part, which increases the volume of the substance dramatically.
