Writing Formulae A formula can usually be constructed from some information you are given or from a diagram.Examples1) Collin buys n bags of sweets at 20p each. He pays with a £5 note. Write down the formula if he receives C pounds change.C=5 - 0.2nIn this example, the number 5 represents the amount of money used to buy the sweets, and the 0.2n is the amount of money he spends per bag. Make sure that the units are the same: 20p=£0.20.
