God Doesn't Like Walls

Eph.2:11-13: We should remember that we were separate from Christ, alienated from Israel, foreigners to the covenant, had no hope, had no God; but we are now brought near to all these things through the blood of Christ

Eph. 4:25 - 5:2

Put off and Put On:

a) Falsehood / Truth speaking

b) angry reactions / self-control

c) stealing / hard work-generosity

d) unwholesome talk / gracious speech

e) bitterness, rage, malice / kindness, compassion, forgiveness

The New Community

1. Christianity: not "me and God"; rather "God and us"

2. True Community is: ATTENTIVE: Christ is the central strand...so we are attentive for Christ in each other; VULNERABLE: we take some risks to reveal our struggles and look for and accept help; OPEN TO DIFFERENCE: true community is open to difference, although there will be struggles and differences, we are accepting of these things; SUPPORTIVE & CONFRONTATIONAL: willing to step up, inclusive of enemy and friend, but we are to do this in love.
