1What is the Quaternary period? What is the Glacial period? What is the Inter-glacial?The Quaternary period is the name for the time in which we live.
The Glacial period is a period in the earth's history when polar and mountain ice sheets were unusually extensive across the earth's surface. There was a permanent ice sheet.
An inter-glacial period is a geological interval of warmer global average temperature lasting thousands of years that separates consecutive glacial periods within an ice age.
