Common Protocols (COMPTIA Network+)
Flashcards do conjunto (20)

Provides a secure, encrypted connection to another device even on insecure networks such as the internet. Often used for terminal access for another device, or for tunnelling insecure protocols inside it.
Basically also replaces old protocols such as Telnet. - 2DNSDomain Name System

Dynamically assigns IP address information (IP address, subnet mask, DNS server’s IP address, default gateway’s IP address) to a network device. - 9HTTPHypertext Transfer Protocol
Allows the fetching of documents, such as HTML documents, from HTTP (mainly web) servers. Very commonly used on the world wide web. - 10HTTPSHypertext Transfer Protocol Secure
An encrypted version of HTTP using TLS/SSL. - 11SNMPSimple Network Management Protocol
