- 31Grade 4 AC sprainposterior separation of the clavicle and complete disruption of the AC ligament
- 32Grade 5 AC Spraincomplete loss of both acromioclavicular and coracoclavicular in addition to the trap and deltoid attachment to the clavicle and acromion
- 33Grade 6 AC Sprainvery rare, clavicle displaced inferior to the coracoid behind the coracobrachialis tendon
- 34What muscles might be tight in association with thoracic outlet syndrome?scalenes, or pectoralis minor
- 35What is the load and shift test? What is a positive?Grasp humeral head and put an AP load on the humerus.
Positive: excessive translation greater than 1 cm.
Inidication: GH ligament injury - 36Sulcus sign Procedure? Positive?Grasp elbow and apply inferior traction.
Positive: depression occurs just below the acromion
Indication: Multi-direction instability - 37Clunk test Procedure? Positive?Pt lies supine grasp elbow and other hand on post humerus, circumduct arm
Positive: feel of a clunking sensation
Indicates: possible labral tear - 38Obrien's Test Procedure PositiveGH jt at 90 degrees flexion, humerus IR apply downward pressure. Repeat supinated/ ER.
Positive: Pain w/ IR decreases with ER
Indication: SLAP - 39Empty can test is done in what plane?Scapular
- 40Serratus Anterior Test Procedure Positive IndicationPt performs push-up against a wall
Positive: scapular winging
Indication: weakness of serratus anterior muscle - 41Ludington's Procedure PositivePt seated with hands clasped behind head, biceps are alternately contracted/relaxed
Positive: Pt cannot contract on one side
Indication: rupture of biceps tendon - 42Adson's Test Procedure PositivePt seated radial pulse is palpated, arm is extended and pt elevates chin and turns face toward extended arm.
Positive: pulse is depressed or stopped
Indication: sublavian artery compression by scalenes - 43Roos test Procedure PositivePt seated both arms 90/90 pt opens and closes hands for 3 min
Positive: loss of strength in hands or loss of sensation
Indication: sublavian artery compressed between 1st rib and clavicle - 44Military brace position test Procedure PositivePt standing retracts scapulae and abduct arm and extend arms. Head is extended back, radial pulse is palpated.
Positive: radial pulse disappears
Indication: Costoclavicular compression - 45Allen Test Procedure PositivePt elbow flexed 90 and shoulder horiz extended and ER. Pt rotates head away from affected arm. Radial pulse taken.
Positive: Pulse disappears
