  1. 1Unit 2.4 Cell to OrganismScience Br Oussama
  2. 2Define Multicellular OrganismsLiving things made up of many cells.
  3. 3What are tissues?Tissues are similar specialised cells working together to complete a specific task.
  4. 4What are Organs?Tissues are organised into organs. An organ is a structure that contains at least two different types of tissue working together to complete a task.
  5. 5What are Organ systems?Organs are arranged into organ systems.Organ systems have two or more organs that work together.
  6. 6How many types of tissues are there?Four
  7. 7What are the names of those tissues?Epithelial, Connective, Muscle and Nerve tissue
  8. 8What is Epithelial tissue made up of?It's made up of cells that form surfaces over other organs.
  9. 9Which organ is best known for its Epithelial tissue? The skin, it has an outer layer of Epithelial tissue called epidermis.
  10. 10What other parts of the body is covered with epidermis?Inside the mouth, digestive system & the Reproductive system
  11. 11What does the connective tissue do?It supports and holds together other tissues.
  12. 12What are some examples of connective tissueFat, Bone, Cartilage, Ligament, and Tendon
  13. 13What does Ligament do?It hold your bones together at the joints.
  14. 14What do Tendons do?It joins muscles to bones.
  15. 15What do Muscle tissues do?They contract, become shorter and fatter.
  16. 16What do Nerve cells do?They can send e;electrical signals around the body.
  17. 17What are organs?Tissues are grouped together into organs. Different tissues contribute to the job that the organ has to do.
  18. 18Name a couple of organs in the human body.Kidney, Heart, Liver and skin.
  19. 19Which organ is the largest?The skin.
  20. 20Why does the body need blood?Blood carries nutrients and oxygen to the cells, and carries wastes away from the cells.
  21. 21What happens in the stomach and small intestine?Food goes through chemical changes so the body can use it.
  22. 22Explain the Respiratory systemIt gets oxygen from air into your body and gets rid of carbon dioxide.
  23. 23What is the skeleton system? The skeletons and muscles.
  24. 24What does the Excretory system do?Gets rid of wastes from the body.
  25. 25Explain what the Nervous system doesIt sends message from the body to then brain, then from the brain to other parts of body including the muscles.
  26. 26Explain the Reproductive systemIt creates and transports specialised cells necessary for reproduction. In females, it provides structures and nutrients for development of baby.
  27. 27What are essential functions for the plantPhotosynthesis, Transport and reproduction
  28. 28Define the Vascular tissueIts made up of cells that create hollow tubes for the transport of nutrients and other substances in fluid.
  29. 29Define XylemCells in a plant that carry water from the roots to the rest of the plant
  30. 30Name the main organs in a plantRoots, Stems and leaves
  31. 31Define PhotosynthesisThe process used by plants to make food from water and carbon dioxide using energy from the sun.
  32. 32What carries water from soil to the plant?Roots.
