- Any commercially available research has most likely been conducted from a larger amount of people than the business could ask

-Should only use research that's been conducted in a similar locality. - 3Advantages of having a website-Gives business a global presence which it may otherwise not be able to afford.

- Will be in full colour and can include hyperlinks to other pages. - 4Disadvantages of having a a website-Cost can be high depending on size etc.
-Depends on powerful databases to run stock control and booking systems. Take a long time to develop.
-Have to have a secure system to prevent fraud
-Must have stock to service demand
-Non technical customers may not want to use a website. Could go elsewhere. - 5Using the internet for communication via email advantages-Emails arrive very quickly unlike post
-Businesses can communicate with customers regardless of location for free.
-Quicker to write an email because no formal layout.
-More environmentally friendly, step towards paperless office, saves money
-Can attach documents - 6Using the internet for communication via email disadvantages-Relies on everyone having the equipment needed. What about non technologicals?
-Can easily be sent to wrong person, lack of confidentiality.
-Most email users receive too many emails, can result in lots of unread emails.
-Emails can be hacked into. - 7Businesses are increasingly using the internet to enable them to operate more efficiently and to help them make more profitThe main ways they use us the internet are for:
-Research
-Promotion
-Selling
-Communications - 8There are advantages and disadvantages but overall the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.An attractive website maintained regularly can help a business advertise and sell goods.
- 9VirusA program that can be transferred from one computer to another, damaging the computer system.
- 10RecipientThe person who is receiving the email that has been sent.
- 11Distribution listA list of email addresses and names of people that can be emailed as a group.
- 12EncryptionWhen data is put into a secret code so that it can only be read by the sender and someone authorised to receive the email.
- 13AttachmentA document which is stored as a file on a computer and sent alongside an email, such as a photograph, image or report.
