Questão Responda
Inorganic ions inside cells Inorganic ions are found in solution in the cytoplasm and the body fluids of organism, some in high concentrations, others in very low concentrations.
Hydrogen - H+(acid) Affets the acidity of solutions. H+ used in respiration to provide energy to make ATP. H+ used in photosynthesis to provide energy to make ATP.
Iron - Fe2+/Fe3+ Structural component of haemoglobin.
Sodium - Na+ Used in the co-transport of glucose and amino acids from the lumen of the small intestine, into intestinal epithelial cells. Also used in nervous conduction.
Phosphate - PO4 3- Componenets of phospholipids, DNA, RNA and ATP.
Nitrites and Nitrates - NO2-, NO3- Taken up from the soil by plant roots. used in making amino acids.
Chloride - Cl- Used in regulating the water potential of the small intestine.
